Time travel: Pioneer Village in Toronto

Pioneer Village it`s a wonderful place, where is history comes to life and all visitors can feel the atmosphere of the past. Founded in 1960, the village represents reconstruction of a 19th century Canadians settlement.  Here you will find historical buildings, artifacts and actors which will tell you a history of lives of the first settlers.

Walking around the area you can notice how thoroughly restored all the details from wooden houses to the smallest household items have been restored. The Atmosphere is cozy and calm and that is what most impresses me. Walking along the narrow streets I felt like I was transported back for 3 centuries.

Interesting fact: one building in The Pioneer Village was transported here one piece. House of family Halfway was built in 1849 in the Scarborough village, and in 1966 it was dismantled, transported and reassembled in the Pioneer Village.

Besides, the original Stong`s family house, which was built in 1816, is in its original place. This is one of the few buildings that has been preserved in its an original form, which make it even more interesting for studding the history of the first settles.

In the village you can find many interesting places like Broom makers shop,

Charles Irvin’s Weaver’s Shop, Doctor’s House Roblin’s Mill, and many more. Each of these house is not only an old house but also it`s an interactive place. In the kitchen you can feel smell of fresh bread and to learn secrets of recipe traditional dishes.

In the forge you can find out the wonderful stories of blacksmith, that will tell you how horseshoes and tools were made. The store was a real discovery for me: pince-nez, gunpowder, unusual knitting needles for hear stile – such sings today can only be found in museums.

Animals made a special impression on me: the sheep calmly grazed next to the houses.

Looking around in the houses of the rich settlers, I was amazed by the details of their interiors, such as a stuffed bird under a glass cover.

But the houses of the poor migrants made us think: how could they live in such tiny premises and raising 10-12 children each?

If you want a photo shoot in the Pioneer Village, it is possible too. How it`s works?

1. You should buy the Pioneer Village website permit for photoshoot. It is not very expensive. The Price will be around 175CAD + HTS  for Couples Photography Package and 315 CAD + HTS for a group of up to 20 people (including the photographer) (The price is as for  January 2025). For this price you can get:

-  Free parking

-  Countless country chic backdrops, with the exteriors of 40-plus heritage buildings plus surrounding green spaces to choose from, you will find

-  Your photo permit is for exterior photography only.

2. Take your photographer and guests with you and have fun!

For people who try to find adventures, in the evening in the Village there is an interactive quest. It`s an excellent choice to spend your time with friends and family and deeply feel the atmosphere of the 19th century.

And, of course, you can’t leave without souvenirs! The exit store offers a variety of mementos to keep your visit alive. If you want to chill far from the bustle of the city and learn more about Canada's past, the Pioneer Village will be perfect place for these. If you need creative photos in historical atmosphere or memorable photos from your special events, I will be happy to help you.

Autumn in Canada: The Beauty in Every Detail

Autumn is a magical time of year in Canada, when nature transforms into a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors. During this season, national parks and forests are covered in golden, red, and orange leaves, creating unforgettable landscapes. The fall colors are especially stunning in places like Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia, where every tree seems to paint a picture.

For me, autumn in Toronto is something special. Life seems to slow down, and it’s the perfect time to contemplate nature’s beauty without rushing. I love how the city is painted in bright colors, and the simple joy of crunching leaves beneath my feet. I especially enjoy driving out of the city and soaking in the autumn views, sipping hot tea in small roadside cafes, and just watching the changing scenery.

What fascinates me the most is how the leaves, like bright little lights, float in Lake Ontario, creating a mesmerizing scene. And how people decorate their homes with orange pumpkin ornaments, marking the arrival of fall. These little details make autumn in Canada truly enchanting.

Autumn in Canada is not only about beautiful sights but also about cozy moments shared with loved ones over a cup of hot tea. It’s the season when nature reminds us of its grandeur and beauty, and we simply take the time to enjoy the moment.

TURKEY BEACH KAPUTAS

Kaputas Beach is considered one of the most picturesque beaches in Turkey. It is located in southwest Turkey on the Mediterranean coast. The length of the beach is only 200 meters and the width is about 30 meters. The beach fascinates with its beauty and the fact that it is located in a hollow between the mountains gives it a special coziness. Now almost everyone knows about the amazing beauty of the beach. Finding a parking space for a car will be quite difficult. There is no dedicated parking; cars are parked right on the side of the highway and it is almost impossible to find a free space near the beach. The bus and minibus stop at a specially designated place near the entrance to the beach. There is also a timetable so you don’t miss the last bus, and there is also a bench for those waiting. In addition, there is a small source of fresh water. There are two towns near Kaputaj Beach - Kalkan (just 7 km from the beach) and Kas (20 km). There is a cafe on the beach where you can have a snack and drink delicious Turkish tea or coffee. In addition, the beach has everything you need: changing cabins, showers (with fairly cold water), toilet and washbasin. Kaputas Beach is very small and closed from the outside world by rocks. I remember it for the gentle sea, small pebbles and the wonderful mood that reigns there.
